In order to facilitate the flow of materials and the cleaning of the manifold, the tunnel should be smooth and without dead corners, and a bevel should be provided at the feed end of the tunnel. The manifold plate is mostly made of stainless steel. When placing the manifold plate, the distance from the manifold plate to the screw head should not be too large, otherwise it is easy to accumulate materials and cause heat-sensitive plastics to decompose.

The fineness and number of layers of the filter mesh depend on the properties of the material, the form of the extruder, the shape and requirements of the product, etc. The fineness of the mesh is 20 to 120 mesh, and the number of layers is 1 to 5. If a multi-layer filter is used, the fine one can be placed in the middle and the coarse ones on both sides. If there are only two layers, the thick one should be placed against the manifold, so that the fine one can be supported to prevent it from being broken by the material flow.
